Due to me having to go through so much trouble to get to this office today (leaving work early & keeping my son out of school) I asked if I could get a letter, on letterhead stating that my son was in the office today. The front desk personnel stated that since my son was not seen, she could not provide a letter. I told her that the letter does not need to say he was evaluated, only that he was in the office (which is not a lie, he was indeed in the office). She still said that she could not provide a letter. I work for a dental office, there is nothing wrong with writing a letter stating that he was in the office. The front desk could not give me a reasonable explanation on why a letter could not be written. Is it against the law to write this letter? I do not understand.
The pediatric doctor there is very good with kids, and he is amazing at explaining everything that is going on with your child's eyesight. Having your daughter jump out of excitement and saying "mommy I can see now!" Is probably the best feeling a parent can ask for and I owe it all to him. Definitely worth taking your children to.
I live an hour away from this office. My job is half way between my house, and this office. In order for me to bring my son to an appointment, I have to keep him out of school for the whole day. I bring him to my mother’s house, which is close to my job. This avoids me having to waste so much time from work & driving. Needless to say I have to go through a lot of trouble to bring my son to this office. I know that I could simply switch offices, but my son is comfortable with the doctor. My son has been a patient at this office for around 5 years.
Edit** Manager calls me back after I have to keep calling. Completely ignores me until I keep calling. Tells me I am a liar and accusing their staff of not doing their jobs. I have phone records which show me calling and cancelling my appointment. They then tell me I'm never allowed to come back because I "failed to show up for my appointment". Do yourself a favor never go here, the worst most disrespectful people work here and don't treat you like a customer let alone a human being. This place is lucky to be in business still in my opinion.
The whole role of an office manager, is to ensure quality treatment to all of the patients of the practice. If the office manager can’t take the time to answer questions & care about the concerns of the patient, then how can you trust that the Doctor will take the time do so? This office manager did not care to help my son and I.
I believe that this office does not care about their patients. Or maybe they don’t care about their Masshealth patients.
I'm sorry some other folks had bad experiences, but for myself I have been nothing but satisfied with the quality of care I received as well as the pleasant and helpful attitudes of the staff.
If the doctors allow an office manager like this to run their practice, then I do not trust the Doctors judgement. nor do I trust the quality of the doctors clinical care.
I went to D'ambrosio Eye Care in February (2017) as a consultation for cataracts. I had surgery by Dr. D' Ambrosio to remove cataracts in both eyes in Feb. and have received follow-ups for this condition plus getting care from an O.D. (she is very competent and super nice). I also received a consultation from Dr. Wu for glaucoma, plus a follow up visit. I found him to be professional and pleasant and he answered all my questions.
I thought that my son’s appointment was today. I arrived to the office to find out that his appointment was not for today. Of course I was frustrated, but I was not upset with the office. The date was miscommunicated, this can often happen when you don’t receive personal calls from the office. Regardless, it does not matter if the miscommunication is on my part or the offices. My son did not have an appointment, and there was no time for him to be seen. I fully understand that, and was not upset.
**Stay away!!** Heed my warning, this place has a high likelihood to do you wrong. I was told I was a candidate for laser eye surgery (PRK). I had an appointment scheduled. I was warned by my mother and friend to get a second opinion and to consider the bad reputation of this establishment. I got a second opinion and it turns out I am NOT a candidate for any sort of laser eye surgery. My corneal thickness is too low which puts me at severe risk for Ectasia something that is just as bad as being blind. To make matters worse, I had called and cancelled my appointment beforehand because of the second opinion. I called back to find out they had never cancelled my appointment and put a red flag on my account because I quote "didn't show up for my appointment" which I had cancelled.
I am an office manager for a dental practice, I would never let a patient/gaurdian leave confused or with unanswered questions. I would do everything I could to make sure that an upset patient/Gaurdian understands the situation, knows that I tried to help, and leaves the office happy!
We went to D'ambrosio Eye Care for a second opinion because our 17-year old son was seeing double. From the minute we walked in the room, we knew that this was the right place for us. Extremely professional greeting, comfortable waiting room and within minutes we were in meeting with Dr. Weisberg and his amazing team. They were truly fantastic - clear, concise and extremely thorough in diagnosing the issue. Loved them so much we went right over to their optical department and purchased glasses. Thank you D'Ambrosio Eye Care!
I did not want to cause a scene at the front desk. I could see that the front desk seemed very overwhelmed, so I asked to speak to the office manager. The front desk personnel disappeared in the back, for 5-10 min. She then came back without the office manager, without the letter I requested, and still no explanation on why it could not be provided. At this point I became more upset that the front desk personnel did not help, and infuriated the office manager did not care enough about my concerns to even talk to me.
I've also received eye glasses and have had no issues at all, and found the staff of opticians to be very helpful and the glasses arrived in a timely fashion. The technicians that have treated me as well as the office staff have all been professional, polite and patient with my many questions.
Do yourself a favor and find another establishment to go to. Go to TLC for laser, they screen you properly as well as hold high standards for their practices. The staff here is very unconcerned and they do not care about their patients. You go in there and you will be wondering around the establishment clueless as to whats going on. Most unprofessional eye place I've ever been to. Currently waiting to speak to the manager.
